Justice Beam, a lifelong Mississippian and trailblazer as the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court from the Southern District, brings decades of legal experience to the practice. Her distinguished career includes roles as a County Prosecutor and Chancery Judge, where she championed the protection of children and families across the state. Beyond the courtroom, she is a devoted community leader involved in organizations like Homes of Hope, Unite Mississippi, and Hope Mississippi. Beam Law Firm reflects her deep commitment to justice, service, and the well-being of Mississippi families.

Dawn Beam

Attorney

Justice Dawn H. Beam brings decades of legal experience, including service on the Mississippi Supreme Court, to every client she represents. A dedicated advocate for children and families, she has built a career rooted in compassion, integrity, and justice. As the founder of Beam Law Firm, she leads with a servant’s heart and a sharp legal mind, committed to guiding clients through life’s most challenging moments.

Sam Newman

Sam Newman

Attorney

Sam is a native of Sumrall, Mississippi, and graduated from Sumrall High School in 2011. He continued his education at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. After selling commercial insurance for several years, Sam decided to pursue a career in law and enrolled at Mississippi College School of Law. He graduated from law school in 2020, cum laude. After law school, Sam went to work with Nelson Law Firm in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, handling a wide array of legal matters ranging from personal injury to estate administration. He later moved to the MS Gulf Coast, where he worked at Copeland Cook Taylor and Bush.

While working at the Gulf Coast firm Sam dealt exclusively with workers compensation cases. Sam also served on the Hancock County Youth Court as the Parent Representative for a season and then became an Assistant Federal Public Defender. With the Federal Public Defender’s office, Sam defended clients in federal court who were charged with any number of federal felonies and misdemeanors. In 2026, Sam decided to fulfill a life-long dream to go into private law practice with his mother, Dawn Beam.

Sam and his wife, Taylor, live in Ocean Springs, and have one son, Charlie. Sam enjoys spending time with his family, deer hunting, and performing music as a solo artist and a member of Mississippi Moonlight. He and Taylor are both very active at Mosaic Church in Ocean Springs where Sam serves as a volunteer worship leader.

Finn Langley

Attorney

Finn Langley received his Bachelor’s  of Science in Accounting at Louisiana Tech University. He then attended Mississippi College School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate.  During law school, Finn worked doing prosecutorial and defense work in Mississippi and Colorado. After law school, Finn briefly did personal injury work. He then worked at the University of Southern Mississippi in accounting before finally landing at the Beam Law Firm, where he handles chancery court matters and serves as a Guardian ad Litem.  Finn resides in Sumrall with his wife, Hali, and their two dogs, Loretta and Mousse. During his spare time, Finn enjoys watching college sports, traveling, or spending time outside. 

Missy Buras

Paralegal

Paralegal Missy, assistant to the Honorable Beam, brings many years of invaluable experience in the legal field. With a keen understanding of the litigation process, she is dedicated to guiding our clients through each stage with confidence, care, and expertise. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering professionalism, Missy ensures that every client feels supported and well-informed throughout their legal journey.
